2000FastWomen

The last time I saw 2000FastWomen, they had a huge set up. Aware of the space constraints at Covent Garden's Belushi's, I was interested to see how it would work acoustically. The stripped down set up consisted of double bass, acoustic guitar and vocals, a long way from their traditional all out electric set up. It didn't hold them back. I've seen a few bands like 2000FastWomen before and it's always felt a bit unnatural. These guys bridge that gap, it really works. Laid back Gypsy Hip Pop Dub at it's best. Stand out tracks include Nasty Boy. This is a band you must see.

Adam of Everybody Be Cool

Stripped of his usual band of backing vocals and percussion, you'd be forgiven for suspecting less than the usual standard from this talented guy. Of course this isn't the case though as Adam simply shines, even on his own, with beautifully crafted pop songs threaded with eloquent, well thought out lyrics. A rare treat.

Seun Babs

Opting to go for the cover / own song / cover own song strategy to concur the crowd on this summer evening in the centre of Covent Garden, Seun Babs battled his way to winning over the group of pub golf competitors that strolled in. A solid performance of top material, Seun Babs is definitely worth checking out.

Ben Is A Dark Horse

Don't let the aggressive mullet, epic beard and lighter earring look fool you; Ben Goddard, the man behind Ben Is A Dark Horse is true to his name. The 20 something Devonshire man living in London has a formidable arsenal of songs constructed with gripping vocals and glued together with a fine selection of melodies and virtuoso guitar playing. Ben's live performance is something to behold, reaching extraordinary notes with his voice whilst delivering a note perfect guitar performance. His show at the Ad Lib night at Beushi's, Covent Garden on June 2nd was no exception. Notable tracks include the poignant Would You Stay and a song "about ill advised romantic gestures",
